Summer Reading Success!

Avon's Summer Reading Program 2009 Be Creative @ Your Library was a great success! One hundred and twenty six children participated in the program and read a total of 28,435 minutes! Way to go!! Over the course of the program, the library hosted 19 programs which were attended by 473 children and parents. Special thanks to the Avon Rotary for sponsoring musician Tom Sieling and his performance, "Howl at the Moon with a Wild Thing Tune." Also, many thanks to community member Cami Schill for her fantastic yoga program and to Caroline Christiano for her creative and fun puppet shows. This summer's program would not have been successful without the hard work and creativity of many local teens who helped out as well - thank you! The Avon Free Library would also like to thank the children and parents who participated in this year's program for making it such a great success. Congratulations and keep on reading!
