Today we were fortunate enough to have local author Sally Valentine with us to teach us about poetry. Click below to read our poem!
We learned that a Rochester woman named Adelaide Crapsey invented the type of poetry called a cinquain. It has 5 lines and follows a 2-4-6-8-2 syllable pattern. Here's our cinquain we wrote together.
Thunderstorms:
Loud Crash!
Lightning Flash!
Rain pours down from the sky.
Put your pillow over your head,
KA BOOM!
Thank you Sally for coming and sharing all your knowledge about poetry and writing books!
