Technology Programs for 2013

The Avon Rotary Club is sponsoring a series of technology programs again this year.  In all, there will be seven programs from March to November.  Each program will be conducted by Ron Kirsop, Assistant Director and Adult Services Librarian, Wood Library in Canandaigua.

Please join us for one or more of these programs, all held at Central Presbyterian Church, 133 Genesee Street, Avon.

March 20th, 7:00 p.m.                   eReaders, OWWL2Go, IPads

Learn how to use your eReader, iPad or other tablet, or other digital device with OWWL2Go to check-out and download eBooks from the library.

April 24th, 7:00 p.m.                     Navigating the Web

Learn how to properly search topics, determine reliable websites and learn the differences among Internet browsers. 

May 22nd, 7:00 p.m.                     Computer Q & A

Bring your technology questions and have them answered by an expert.    

July 31st, 7:00 p.m.                      Social Networks

Learn the differences among Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+ along with the pros and cons of each.

September 25th, 7:00 p.m.          Computer Health

Viruses, worms, trojans, spyware, scareware and other types of malicious software will be discussed and you will learn how to keep your computers safe from these threats.

October 30th, 7:00 p.m.              Online Privacy

Protect your personal information while online.

November 20th, 7:00 p.m.           Microsoft Office Review

Word, PowerPoint and Excel -- questions?  Bring them and get them answered.
