Mission

The purpose of the Avon Free Library outlined in its New York State charter is to provide for the citizens of the Avon Community, a circulating library and reading room as well as space for community meetings and social activities, compatible with library programs and schedules. In addition, the mission of the library is to secure free access to current reliable information of interest to all ages in an atmosphere that encourages an interest in reading and learning, regardless of ethnic background, religion, sex, age, or physical disabilities. This will be done according to policies established by the Library's Board of Trustees.
